Men Are From the Server Side, Women Are From the Client Side: A Biblical Perspective on Men, Women and Computer Science

About Men Are From the Server Side, Women Are From the Client Side: A Biblical Perspective on Men, Women and Computer Science

Abstract

The percentage of women in computer science is small and has decreased over the last twenty years. This situation has its roots in the basic creational differences between men and women. Men are more task-focused, oriented to things and to exercising power. Women are more relational, oriented to people and to helping. Men are more competitive; women more cooperative. To attract women into computer science, an important goal, we need to understand these differences and how they affect the way students approach computer science. [A]
