Abstract
Knuth notes that he is not trained in either philosophy or theology but in mathematics and computer science. Yet as a computer scientist with an active interest in theology he wished religious writings would be more accessible to computer scientists and thought he might share some ideas with them that he had learned from theologians. Working on his book 3:16 was pivotal in his thinking that he might contribute something about religion from his academic perspective and learn something about theology in return. This lecture focuses on randomization and religion. [A]
