Computer Science: Creating in a Fallen World

About Computer Science: Creating in a Fallen World

Abstract

When God created people in his image, he gave them the gift of sub-creation. One of the great joys of Computer Science is exercising that gift to create software and computer systems that serve people and solve problems. Christians should seek to create for Christ, showing proper concern for truth, stewardship, justice, and diversity. However, we live and work in a fallen world, affecting not only what we build but, more fundamentally, how we build it. The modern practice of “agile” software development addresses this problem. It is a productive response to human imperfection in both knowledge and action. [A, CJ]
