Abstract

Computers release humans from mental labor and can do calculations that are too difficult for people to perform. But thinking is more than symbol manipulation. Computers as symbol manipulators will help us to develop new jobs in society that have dignity, but the new leisure computers provide must be used wisely. [GBC, CJ]
