AI in Education: Villain, Savior, or Something Else?

About AI in Education: Villain, Savior, or Something Else?

Abstract

Technology, including artificial intelligence, has the potential to do good as well as harm; it can be developed either in obedience or disobedience to God. It is now developing faster than many expected and poses a challenge to those who are learning to write as well as those who develop code. Users of AI must seek to discern the worldview of the products it offers and must resist anthropomorphizing computers: today's bots are not human. AI should be developed by aligning its functionalilty with creational norms, such as those of justice, stewardship, transparency, and trust. [CJ]
