Abstract
This paper outlines the professor’s role in orienting students to engineering through character formation. It presents a taxonomy (responsibilities, otherness, outwardness) and practical strategies (modeling, enabling, encouraging) to cultivate integrity, humility, perseverance, justice, and service in engineering education.
