Abstract
Describes teaching an undergraduate course, Mathematics of Data Science, that immediately follows courses for Linear Algebra and Multivariable Calculus, aiming to fill the educational need of a new generation of math majors and minors. Also offers some reflections on how this course links to new modes of scientific reasoning and Christian apologetics. Briefly conjectures that an abductive framework of reasoning (inference to the best explanation) might give rise to a new framework of Christian apologetics different from deductive and inductive frameworks. This might be one way to harmonize a rational concept of faith and science derived from data. [A, CJ]
