Abstract

This paper looks at two parliamentary reports published in 2018, by the UK and France, on artificial intelligence. Both reports offer insight into how the United Kingdom and France are thinking about and dealing with the growth and impact of Artificial Intelligence in society. These reports are compared and contrasted, showing how each addresses common points, and identifying points that are addressed in one report but not the other. It then gives the authors' own analysis and commentary on issues addressed in and arising from these two reports from the point of view of the authors' work on ethics in mathematics. [A]
