Abstract

This fifth lecture discusses what the author learned from the 3:16 project, a personal exploration of Biblical literature which he regards as a turning point in his own life. Applying some further calculations, he decided that his sampling method was probably less random than he previously thought. But his main reflections were not quantitative but were on what he had learned about the Christian life from the project. In response to questions, Knuth expressed the conviction that he's meant to finish his 4-volume work on programming (which he did in 2022). [A, CJ]
